Mike and I met Penny and Wayne in February 2020. We visited Sayulita for the 7th time and decided we might want to move here. They made several appointments for us to look at properties and educate u s along the way about purchasing property in Mexico. At the end of our time in Sayulita, we decided that, in fact, we did want to move here, but we couldn't commit to purchasing until we sold our house in the states. Penny and Wayne were so gracious about our decision and timing. They simply said, "you are the perfect couple for this town," and we became fast friends. We appeared at the Beachside Office, and much to Penny's surprise, fast forward to July 2020 (yes, during the pandemic). We had sold everything we owned and arrived in Sayulita with suitcases, a few fishing poles and our dog, Duke! We began then in earnest to find our new home. Penny showed us several options, from stand-alone houses to condos, all of which "checked the boxes" on what we were looking for in a place to call home. We found the perfect condo (deciding we didn't need another house at this point). Penny did a great job negotiating the "deal" and basically held our hand all the way through closing and beyond! We started our search in Sayulita in February 2020. Without knowing much about the Sayulita market - and even less about the realtors in the area, we were a bit lost initially. The first two realtors we worked with were not very knowledgeable about the local market and the purchase process for non-titled ejido properties. As a result, we did not get very far until we connected with Penny and Wayne, which made all the difference for us. We found them to be very knowledgeable realtors and even better people. Once we found the right property with Penny's help, she guided us through the entire purchase process, which was complicated by the state of the pandemic at the time. Since our closing, we have stayed in close contact with Penny and Wayne and often stop into their office to simply say hello and catch up on things. We felt fortunate to find Wayne and Penny on our journey to our new home in Puerto Vallarta. While we were familiar with the town, we didn't understand which neighborhood would best fit our young fami ly. After Wayne helped us narrow our focus to a couple of homes, we decided to make an offer on a home, which was accepted. He brought in an excellent inspector who found some serious issues, and though disappointed, we withdrew the offer. Wayne found another we really liked, and our offer was accepted! We returned to the States and put our home there on the market -- it sold very quickly, which was, it turned out, a problem because the inspector found structural issues on this house as well, and Wayne suggested that we walk away. We were in a predicament. We had sold our home in the States and, at that point, had no home to move to in Vallarta. However, it turned out that Wayne continued the search and found a place he felt was better than the previous two and in a terrific neighborhood not far from the other two homes. He scheduled a Facetime walk-through with us, gave us his own opinion, and had the inspector in and out within days. After days of uncertainty, we found our dream home in Puerto Vallarta in the most unlikely ways.
